Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel Review

My husband and I recently enjoyed a long weekend in Kuala Lumpur. We did a lot of research before booking our stay at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur. It is part of the Marriott chain and gets good reviews.

The best part about this hotel was the location. It is within a couple blocks of the subway and train. It is only a few blocks from the Petronas Towers. The Hop-On-Hop-Off tour and the KL Tourism Office is just across the road. If you’re looking for a central place to stay to explore the city, this is your place.

We had a room on the 14th floor with a pool view. There are rooms that have views of the Petronas Towers, but those were a significant cost upgrade.  There was a lot of construction going on nearby. It was not noticeable from our room, but was from the pool.

The pool area was great. (Please excuse the blurry photo I took out the window of our room). The round thing you see on the left side is the bar. There were plenty of pool chairs and we have no problem getting some to use. The pool has a swim-up bar, which is wonderful on a hot day. My only complaint about the pool is lack of towels. On two separate occasions I went to get a towel and there were none. The wait time to get a towel was a half hour. With a hotel of this size, they should anticipate the towel needs. Perhaps they need to limit how many towels each room can take at one time? It was obvious some people had many, many towels.

We had a superior room. The television did not work initially, but someone came to fix it within a half hour. The room was clean and we really had no complaints.

The bathroom had a full tub with shower. Again, there were no cleanliness issues.

Overall, we had a great experience and would stay here again. There isn’t a convenience store nearby, so we might plan a little better next time regarding snacks and drinks. But ultimately, it was a great stay and I would highly recommend you check it out!

I booked through, where I’m working on getting a free night. They have a great program where after you stay 10 nights, your 11th night is free. The best part is you can collect nights at various hotels, so it’s not as though you need to stay in one place a long time.
