Great Security Tool for Travel

Looks like I’ve found my new favorite travel accessory! I just got a Sholdit scarf and I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it. The Sholdit is a scarf that has a large built-in pocket where you can keep valuables when you travel.

It looks like a traditional infinity scarf.

There is a bit of a texture to the exterior fabric.

The interior fabric is smooth. Here you can see the zipper is large enough to give you plenty of access to the hidden pocket. The pocket has a lot of room! I carried two cell phones, my passport, lip gloss, ear buds, and a pack of gum inside it.

When you’re not using it as a scarf you can fold it into the pocket and carry it like a clutch.

There is a decent amount of room inside it. It’s certainly enough room to keep your essentials!

There is also a loop where you can attach a wrist strap if you’d like to carry it like a clutch.

I used this on my recent trip back to Hong Kong from Chicago. It gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing that all of my valuables were so close to me. I didn’t have to worry about having my purse get lost or stolen. The only thing that was kind of a downside for me is that it is warm (it’s a scarf after all!). In the 90+ degree heat, it was a little much. That is just a function of it being a scarf. I still think that the benefits outweigh the discomfort!

Overall reviews on Amazon show 4.3 out of 5 stars. Some of the complaints were that if you put heavy things in the pocket (and wear it double looped) it chokes you. I also found this to be true, but there is an easy work around. Just use the second loop to hold up the heavy stuff in the pocket. I learned this within 30 seconds of putting the scarf on and it did not present any problems for me!

In this picture you can see what it looks like double looped when there is a lot of weight in the pocket. I purposely loaded a lot in it: two cell phones, lip gloss, wallet, and sunglasses!

Here I used the second loop to hold the part with the pocket up. Problem solved!
